Note from Self

thoughts on the band, the sporting world, and other things that have nothing to do with the first two things. hilarity ensues.

i'm sure even Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch had shows like this

sometimes michigan weather is just unbelievable. here's what weather.com said for yesterday: "Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches. Total storm accumulations 5-8 inches. " this isn't exactly a catalyst for show attendance. i was trusting that people who were planning on coming would act like true michigan residents and brave the cold and snow and drive either way too fast or way too slow on the way there. alas. it wasn't to be. let's just say that the show at Club Above was... ahem... modestly attended. thanks to deborah solo, for playing and bringing the bulk of the attendees. i think we sounded pretty good, and we're getting the hang of setting up our sound system, but it would be nice to have people hear it. suffice to say that we're not going to headline any non-coffee-shop shows again any time soon. but, you know, reality checks are good, i guess. kind of like the time i thought i could play basketball at lifetime, and i dislocated my shoulder. or the time i thought i could play netminder for indoor soccer, and i dislocated my shoulder. at least i didn't dislocate anything last night. except for my pride. seriously though, on the bright side, it was a great learning experience. and that is the only way we're going to get better. it's just not as fun of a learning experience as going to hollywood and hanging out with musicians.
