links to other stuff

ann arbor's 107.1 - great radio station. call them to request us: 734.998.1071

sports guy - this guy cracks me up.

Mgoblue - hail, hail.

the detroit free press - where i get like 80% of my sports news. mitch albom is an artist.

people we've done shows with

down the line - these guys are an acoustic pop group from chicago. they use all sorts of instruments: guitar, mandolin, violin, harmonica, djembe drum, and the only electric instrument; the bass. they use incredibly rich 4 part vocal harmonies along the lines of the eagles or even crosby, stills, nash, and young. really impressive stuff. check out their website to hear them.

duffy - classic smooth rock and roll sound, a la the beatles or paul simon or maybe even bob dylan, from a couple of guys that weren't even born when that was the thing.

rachele eve - here's a little blurb about her:
"rachele eve is a young singer/songwriter from the greater detroit area. with her exotic vibrato and soul driven music, her heartfelt lyrics and raw acoustic performance demand attention and provoke thought. rachele eve strives to emphasis the positive lifestyle of peace and love with music being her tool." check out her cd, the arrangements are pretty sweet.

deborah solo - she plays shows with us. well, show - singular, for now. but she'll be in australia for a while

here are a few bands that ben listens to that you may not have heard of

death cab for cutie - these guys are getting more mainstream, but transatlanticism is definitely one of the best albums i own.

this day & age - solid cd all the way through, they're great live, i'm telling you, they'll be big sometime soon.

mae - great emo-ish band. i don't know how to describe them, just check out embers & envelopes, and you'll like them forever.

nickel creek - bluegrass pop trio. technically, probably a few of the best musicians on the planet.

other notes to selves

notetoself.com - i emailed this guy a long time ago to see if we could have his domain name. he said no. it's okay, though. he takes neat pictures.

notetoself.co.uk - apparently a british guy.

from first to last - these guys wrote a SONG called "Note to Self". we probably won't do that. can a band even have a self-titled song? is that allowed?

note to self, the movie - a really short movie, at that

urban dictionary - in case you didn't know what we meant
